Designed to meet the special programming requirements of flash memory and other high-density devices, the 3980xpi universal programmer delivers download speeds up to 20 times faster than its predecessor, the 3980 Programming System. The new system provides support for FPGAs, PLDs, CPLDs, flash memory devices and microcontrollers housed in DIP, LCC, PLCC, SOIC, TSOP, QFP and µBGA packages.
Featuring universal pin drivers, the 3980xpi supports devices with up to 400 pins. Unique device carriers incorporate MatchBook socketing technology, which safely handles surface-mount devices by aligning and holding them over the programming area.
Windows-based software featuring a menu-driven interface and on-line help is included. The 3980xpi will be available around the middle of this month.
