Promising a perfect balance of performance and power consumption, the SOM-5781 COM-Express module enlists a high-speed AMD Turion CPU with an integral ATI graphic engine and chipset. It also employs a chip that dynamically adjusts fan speed and the company’s SUSI API tool, a reduce-CPU-speed command to prevent a system crash when the module detects an abnormal status from the CPU fan. Other features include support for dual-channel LVDS for 48-/24-bit TFT panels, up to 4 GB of DDR2 RAM, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s LAN interface, eight USB 2.0 ports, four PCI-e x1 ports, and four SATA ports.
