Evolving from the company's MPS600/800 servers, the MPS1000 is said to offer twice the density, increased performance, and greater reliability compared to the existing units. Housed in a 1U ruggedized form factor, the MPS1000 provides two 10/100 Ethernet ports, 16 WAN serial ports, and a modular design that reduces mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) in the field. The server is capable of executing multiple communications protocols, making it suitable for next-generation intelligent WAN/LAN bridges, WAN/LAN gateway devices, or remote WAN connectivity servers. It employs the Linux-based NexusWare development environment and supports protocols that include frame relay, HDLC, LAPD, X.25, radar receiver, and SBSI. Pricing begins at $7,595.
