Embedded systems developers of Windows CE-based embedded devices can enjoy the benefits of Java technology and its support of the Internet with version 1.0 of the Jeode platform. The platform is the firm’s implementation of Java technology designed to be compatible with Sun Microsystems’ Java specification for embedded systems. The platform is also available for developing Java applications on Windows NT and Linux-based embedded systems. Java applications developers and users can use this Java-compatible virtual machine for the Windows CE platform and other embedded operating system environments, which is said to deliver optimal performance and behavior for embedded devices.The Jeode product line includes the Java-compatible Embedded Virtual Machine (EVM) , which is a Java runtime environment that is small, fast, and predictable. Jeode product includes embedded class libraries, and build time and runtime tools that enable developers to configure an EVM.
