Providing advanced traffic control for optimum network performance and security, the EKI-7656C 16+2 port, industrial managed redundant Gigabit Ethernet switch features rapid self-healing fiber optic ring capabilities to ensure network uptime in adverse environments. In the event of a fiber cable fault or similar problem, X-Ring technology switches to a backup connection in less than 10 ms. The module hosts 16 Fast Ethernet (10/100 Base-TX) and two combo gigabit (1000 Base-T) ports, which support both RJ-45 connections and optional industry-standard small-form-factor pluggable modules. X-Ring also supports dual rings and coupled rings and provides backward compatibility with enterprise and back-office to factory-floor connections, i.e., RSTP and STP. Other features of the EKI-7656C include traffic control functions plus traffic monitoring and diagnostics. ADVANTECH CORP., Cincinnati, OH. (800) 205-7940.
