The 4I66 is a stackable PC/104 card that combines a 100BaseT Ethernet MAC with a 4-port switch. This allows the user to connect multiple embedded systems without the power and mechanical problems associated with consumer Ethernet switches. The four Ethernet ports support autonegotiation, allowing connections with half- and full-duplex 10BaseT and 100BaseT devices plus auto MDX. This eliminates the need for crossover cables. The Ethernet MAC is a National Semiconductor DP3816, which has drivers for most operating systems. The switch has sufficient bandwidth to support full-duplex wire speed connections on all ports. Price is $133 each/100. MESA ELECTRONICS, Richmond, CA. (510) 223-9272.
