Debuting as the first member of the V1100 family of 10-GbE modules, the V1120 dual-channel module enlists a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA and features a rugged design for deployment in harsh environments. To accommodate large line-rate bursts of incoming sensor data, the module buffers up to 115,000 jumbo-frame Ethernet packets in SDRAM. In a conduction-cooled package, it operates over a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. Following the VITA 42.3 XMC mezzanine module format, the V1120 integrates with standard off-the-shelf platforms such as VXS and VPX blades, providing multiple platform options. The V1100 family supports the company's udpXG protocol offload and streamXG data streaming acceleration cores and software. For easy integration and future software portability, the family also supports a standard sockets-based software API. The V1120 will be available in the fourth quarter.
