Consisting of dual 10-Gb bypass segments with passive and active bypass switch capabilities, the Niagara 2814 intelligent bypass switch’s active bypass enables failover without interrupting the communication session in case of a software crash or link loss. In addition to bypass, the system supports TAP functionality for traffic monitoring purposes. The intelligent bypass also enables plug-and-play connectivity, includes an auto heartbeat, and requires no additional drivers for external appliances. The switch, managed via a 64-bit MIPS controller, supports a variety of control and management capabilities. Other features include redundant power supplies, management and console ports, extensive CLI and WEB management, SSH and HTTPS for secure management, full RoHS compliance, TACACS+ authentication, and Syslog support. Available for evaluation in April, the Niagara 2814 will be in production by May. INTERFACE MASTERS TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA. (408) 456-2545.
