The Gazelle technology is designed for memory-constrained devices such as cell phones. File data is compressed to the company's Micro Data Format (MDF). MDF files can be accessed and modified like normal files while retaining their compact format. Alternative systems normally require decompression of the entire file. The technology permits the use of exsiting file formats. Developer pricing starts at $25,000 plus royalty and annual maintenance fees.
