For embedded power applications, the EPM-FPS-50 PC/104-Plus switching power supply module supports PC/104, PC/104-Plus, EBX, and EPIC platforms and operates from clean or noisy power inputs between 8V and 40V, ac or dc. This allows the use of inexpensive Class 2 power wiring in many applications. Providing up to 50W of continuous output power, the RoHS-compliant module operates over an extended temperature range from -40ºC to +85ºC, making it suitable for operation in harsh environments. Other features include polarity-reversal protection on the inputs and a battery-backup option that provides seamless switching to battery power with intelligent shutdown capabilities in the event of power interruptions. Shipping in February 2009, pricing will start at around $199 in OEM quantities.
