Gearing up for blade server applications, the Promentum SYS-6000 AdvancedTCA integrated Linux blade server boasts of the highest density of computing resources available in a standard product platform. Housed in a 12U chassis, the system’s integrated shelf management is implemented in software on the switch, thereby freeing up more slots for services. It employs a redundant architecture and offers a choice of CPU densities, including single and dual Xeon processors (up to 72 per 42U rack) plus single, dual, or quad Pentium III/M processors (up to 144 per 19", 42U rack). Other features include a 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel SAN capability and a switch function that accommodates eight gigabit Ethernet uplinks, said to be the highest available on the market. Expected availability for the Promentum SYS-6000 is January, 2005. RADISYS CORP., Hillsboro, OR. (800) 950-0044.
