Adding a layer of enhancement, the company's GPS dead reckoning system now integrates a gyroscope sensor from Epson Toyocom into the reference design for the system. The reference design promises to shorten time to market and reduce the risks associated with GPS integration for applications that require uninterrupted positioning regardless of GPS signal conditions. The system employs an LEA-4R dead reckoning GPS module, which enables 100% road coverage, while Epson's XV-8000-CB gyroscope offers improved temperature, shock, and vibration stability. The AEK-4R dead reckoning reference design evaluation kit will be available next month. U-BLOX AMERICA INC., Herndon, VA. (703) 234-5290.
