Needing 40% less power than its LEA-LA predecessor, the 17 mm x 22 mm LEA-4A GPS module keeps power usage at low levels by excluding flash EPROM, which also keeps the price tag attractive. The module enlists an ANTARIS 4 GPS receiver that enables a 4-Hz position update rate, DGPS and full SBAS (WAAS and EGNOS) support, accommodations for active and passive antennas, and antenna supervision that detects short circuits. The receiver also includes assisted GPS functionality, which provides instant positioning upon request. For more details and pricing, call U-BLOX AMERICA INC., Herndon, VA. (703) 234-5290.
