The OPA657 is a high-gain-bandwidth (1.6-GHz) JFET amplifier designed for optical networking, photodiode, and data-acquisition applications. It combines a high-precision voltage feedback amplifier with JFET input to provide an enhanced dynamic range for wideband transimpedance applications or driving analog-to-digital converter (ADC) signals at high gains. The amplifier features a 5-pA input bias current and a slew rate of 700 V/µs. A unity-gain stable version, the OPA656, is also available. This version offers a high bandwidth and excellent dc precision. The OPA656 features a slew rate of 290 V/µs. Both the OPA657 and OPA656 operate from ±5- to 12-V supplies. They offer a maximum input offset drift of 6 µV/°C and ±70-mA output current. The OPA657 and OPA656 are available now in SOT23-5 and SO-8 packages. In 1000-piece quantities, the OPA657 and OPA656 cost $6.35 and $5.85, respectively.
