CPU Model Supports Virtual System Prototyping

VaST System Technology's VaST SH2AVPM is a cycle-accurate virtual model of the Renesas SH2A CPU.

VaST Systems Technology is now offering a virtual processor model of a 2.0-MIPS/MHz embedded core for automotive powertrain and digital-audio applications.

The VaST SH2AVPM is cycle-accurate model of the Renesas SH2A CPU. According to the company, it executes at speeds of up to 165 MIPS on VaST’s standard benchmarking platform and test suite.

The model, in conjunction with device peripheral models and VaST’s virtual system prototyping tools, provide a complete environment for architectural exploration and early software development.

The SH2AVPM can be integrated with Renesas’s High Performance Embedded Workshop (HEW) tools. Additional peripheral models for SH2A are under development.
