Desktop EDA Suite Facilitates Team-Based Design Efforts

In Release 9 of the OrCAD desktop EDA tools, the firm's Interchange Architecture makes OrCAD Capture the single interface and database for project management and design entry. The tool's user interface connects engineers to a choice of products for component information management; mixed schematic/VHDL FPGA and CPLD design, simulation and synthesis; analog/mixed-signal design; and pcb layout.With Release 9, every engineer on a product design team can develop their design or sub-section of a design using a consistent user interface with compatible data format. This means a design may be easily segmented in its early stages and merged later for system integration, test and implementation. Analog and FPGA designers can interchange design data with other engineers without having to re-enter the data. OrCAD Capture now includes a New Project Wizard that customizes the user interface based on the type of design being done.
