Making it easier for new users to generate a first application, version 1.5 of the firm's DESIGNpoint application generator tool for visual data collection software is designed from the ground up as a true, real-time, client-server application generator. The tool provides immediate database access via ODBC. Auto-ID capability is coupled with other network functionality, such as access to file servers, mail servers and FTP servers, to quickly create applications. The DESIGNpoint software is a Windows 95/98/NT tool for visually constructing and implementing DOS-based transaction applications. It eliminates the time-consuming task of programming, debugging and maintaining programs to run on DOS terminals and data-collection computers. Users simply draw a block diagram of their application, specify the execution and data flow, and press one button to create the application.
