In response to the needs of engineers deploying time-critical applications, the company and QNX Software Systems have introduced real-time components for Java technology that can be used to configure and control the J9 Virtual Machine. The company's implementation is based upon the current real-time specification for Java and will track updates to the specification and its test suites, as they become available. It supports construction of systems that behave in real-time on the J9 Virtual Machine, V1.2, the company's jcIMAX class library, the QNX Neutrino RTOS, and x86 hardware based platforms. These real-time Java components for use with VisualAge Micro are available now at no charge and are downloadable from the company's web site.
