The QNX realtime platform brings a host of new features, including Java applet support, Windows connectivity, and multimedia, to the Geode WebPAD reference design for portable web appliances from National Semiconductor. The enhanced WebPAD features the latest version of Voyager web browser and a new set of browser plug-ins including Macromedia Flash, RealAudio, a PDF viewer, and a J9 virtual machine from IBM specially optimized for the QNX realtime platform. Other highlights include a Citrix ICA client for remote Windows access, a user interface designed specifically for the WebPAD, the latest version of the QNX Neutrino RTOS and Photon microGUI windowing system, as well as support for USB and 11 Mbps wireless networking.
