Configurable to either convert or extend SCSI transmissions, the company's Ultra320 SCSI external expander allows users to double cable lengths and to connect to the latest LVD devices, as well as older HVD servers. A multi-mode feature provides either LVD or single-ended mode operation by auto-sensing the type of interface connected. In single-ended mode, maximum cable length is up to 40 ft., while multi-mode operation extends the life of legacy devices. The expander measures 4" x 3.7" x 1.5" and supports 16-bit arbitration, disconnect/reconnect domain validation, CRC, packetized transfers, quick arbitration and selection, and multi-threaded applications. It also can act as a SCSI isolator. Price is $335 each/250. RANCHO TECHNOLOGY INC., Rancho Cucamonga, CA. (909) 987-3966.
