The Nucleus EDGE software development environment is intended for MIPS32 and MIPS64 architectures using the 4K, 4KE, 5K and 24K core families for digital entertainment and multimedia applications. The environment consists of MIPS optimized software including an SDE compiler and MIPSim instruction set simulator integrated into an industry-standard Eclipse platform. It includes an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that provides tutorials to guide users through the development process. The user interface (UI) permits users to interact with the GUI while the EDGE software runs background tasks such as building the user application. The software contains an advanced project manager complete with an editor and builder that helps automate the build process. The system integrates with the SDE compiler to support other tools .
