ARM-Based CPU Card Has Wireless Support

With a slot for a Wi-Fi card and two 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interfaces, the 4C81 is a low power ARM-based PC104-PCI CPU card designed for network applications. The 166-MHz card consumes less than 2W from a 5V supply. It can handle 32 MB or 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB of NAND flash memory. The Ethernet interfaces generate checksums allowing close to wire speed routing through the device. An optional on-card 200- or 400-gate FPGA with a 32-bit local-bus connection provides flexible user I/O or a custom processing accelerator. Expansion is possible by the addition of high-performance peripheral cards. The device supports both Linux and NetBSD, either of which can be pre-installed in the flash memory.
