In addition to packing an Intel 3100 chipset and a Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA, the AXA-100 advanced mezzanine card (AMC) supports a Core Duo processor L2400 within a single-width full height AMC module. It also accommodates up to 4 GB of memory and fabric XAUI and PCI Express links. The 3100 chipset integrates memory and I/O controllers, supporting a 667-MHz processor bus and single-channel registered DDR2-400 SDRAM with ECC. A 4-lane, non-transparent PCI Express interface and two XAUI interfaces are handled via the FPGA in the FAT pipes region on the AMC.1/AMC.2-compliant fabric interface. Two 1000Base-BX Ethernet ports and two Serial ATA interfaces are available in the common options region.
