Described as a turnkey, application-ready programmable device server module that delivers secure Ethernet connectivity and web-server capabilities, the MatchPort AR employs a 32-bit processor working with the Evolution OS operating system. The module reportedly provides a platform for secure networking with SSH and SSL protocols, advanced web services such as AJAX, a full-featured protocol stack, and SNMP device-management capabilities. Users can develop network-ready, web-enabled devices that seamlessly integrate into enterprise networks by connecting the host microcontroller’s serial port to one of the module’s two available serial ports. The 32-bit, 159-MIPS (Dhrystone 2.1) 166-Mhz processor teams with 8 MB of SDRAM and 4 MB of flash memory. Additionally, the module specifies an operating temperature range from -30°C to +70°C. Available at the end of July, price is below $40 each in high volume. LANTRONIX INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 526-8766.
