Reportedly an industry first, the VG6 SBC supports Freescale Semiconductor’s advanced MPC8640 and MPC8640D as well as MPC8641, MPC8641D processors. Employing the MPC8640 and MPC8640D low power-power architecture processors, the SBC operates reliably in confined spaces where heat may be difficult to dissipate. The 6U VME VG6 is available as a dual node/single node, dual node/single node single computer and is configurable as a single MPC8640 single core, single MPC8640 D dual core, dual MPC8640 single core, or a dual MPC8640D dual-core solution with a x8 PCI Express adapter between the nodes. Each node can be configured with up to 2 GB of DDR2 ECC memory. Other features include three Gigabit Ethernet ports, two 10/100 Ethernet ports, two SATA ports, extension slots for both PMC/XMC (PCI-X 133 or x8 PCI Express) and PMC (PCI-X 100), four serial ports (two RS232, two RS422), and six USB 2.0 interfaces. Upon request, operating-system support includes VxWorks, Linux, LynxOS, and INTEGRITY. GE FANUC INTELLIGENT PLATFORMS, Charlottesville, VA. (434) 978-5000.
