Promising to make controlling an analog output via a serial port a snap, the D3000M series Modbus-compatible smart digital-to-analog modules combine a 12-bit DAC with programmable analog output control features and communicate using Modbus RTU over an RS-232C or RS-485 link. The series includes 16 models: voltage (0 to 1V, ±1V, 0 to 5V, ±5V, 0 to 10V, ±10Vdc), current (0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA), with either RS-232 or RS-485 inputs. Output slopes are fully programmable from 0.01 V/s to 10,000 V/s and input-to-output isolation is 500 Vrms. Output burnout protection is 240 Vac for current outputs or ±30V for voltage models. Other features include a measurement resolution of 12 bits, update rate of 1,000 conversions/s, and accuracies are 0.1% FS for voltage and current outputs. In addition, each module provides for a manual up or down override of the analog output. Single-unit pricing is $275. DGH CORP., Manchester, NH. (603) 622-0452.
