The PACwiz series programmable automation controllers (PACs) suit automation apps using the IEC 61131-3. Users are able to upgrade to a PAC platform without further training as application development can be done in IEC 61131-3 languages, similar to traditional PLCs. PACwiz features distributed motion control of up to 256 axes and distributed I/O up to 2,016 points. The open PACwiz-MXC system employs the company’s fanless expandable platform via PCI and PCIe slots and is powered by a 1.6-GHz Atom N270 processor. The open PACwiz-MXC is designed to operate as an I/O controller integrated with I/O and/or distributed motion modules while allowing the addition of other modules such as a frame grabber. The closed PACwiz-DPAC embedded system uses compact and fanless distributed PAC with built-in distributed motion and I/O control solutions using Motionnet and HSL buses. Single-unit list prices for the PACwiz-MXC and PACwiz-DPAC are $999 and $1,149, respectively. ADLINK TECHNOLOGY AMERICA INC., Irvine, CA (866) 423-5465.
