The latest revision of the FireFly, an Atom-processor-based single board computer (SBC), reemerges with a significantly lower price tag. Reporting comparable performance to netbooks at a fraction of the power, it also lays claim to being the industry’s smallest full-function embedded SBC. Essentially, several modifications prepared the updated SBC for increased production speeds without sacrificing any of the board’s performance, size, or low-power qualities. Features include 1GB of DDR2 RAM, six USB Host ports, one USB Client port, 10/100 Ethernet, a LVDS LCD connector, touch screen controller, PATA interface, stereo speaker output, headphone output, stereo line input, on-board temperature sensor, microSD slot, 5V power input, and options for 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, dual battery charger, and ExpressCard slot.
