Clip Provides Reliable Memory Card Retention

April 26, 2010
The 3M Retainer Clip for CF II attaches to 3M CF II card headers that accept 3M CF II ejector hardware.

Embedded Systems Conference, 2010 – Promising reliable retention of CompactFlash Type I (CF I) and Type II (CF II) removable memory cards mating with the company’s CF II card headers, the 3M Retainer Clip for CF II attaches to 3M CF II card headers that accept 3M CF II ejector hardware. Using active mechanical retention to secure the card to the header, the clip adds a second layer of protection beyond passive friction that normally holds memory cards in place. Reportedly, the clip prevents the memory card from falling out in high-vibration environments. 3M ELECTRONICS, Saint Paul, MN. (800) 364-3577.
