Enabling streaming video over bandwidth-constrained links common to unmanned-vehicle apps, the ICS-8580 XMC module provides a plug-and-play solution that requires minimal integration or software development. The module weighs 100g and consumes 10W to 15W of power. Employing an H.264 video compression codec, it is software-reconfigurable to support alternatives such as JPEG2000. Other features include support for HD/ED/SD analog input signals, analog RGB formats from VGA to UXGA, digital input formats such as 3G-SDI, DVI, and HDMI up to a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 or 1,600 x 1,200, and up to four streams of SD input data can be compressed in parallel.
