An all-in-one component, the Gms-u1LP GPS module specifies a power consumption of 24 mA while tracking and 30 mA during acquisition. It offers support for dual antennas with auto switching and short protection while maintaining a high level of reception sensitivity. The module, in a small SMD form factor, measures 16 mm x 16 mm x 6 mm and supports up to 66 channels of satellite searching with -165-dBm sensitivity and a 10-Hz maximum update rate. The Gms-u1LP comes with a switching mode power supply that may help reduce overall power consumption by 30% or more. GlobalTop Technology, Tainan Industrial Science Park, Taiwan.
