Core i7-Based Multiprocessor Systems Meet Flight Qualifications

According to X-ES, its XPand4200 series of multiprocessor systems is now flight-qualified. The XPand4208 and XP4206 systems, tested to MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461, are based on the Intel Core i7 processor.

According to X-ES, its XPand4200 series of multiprocessor systems is now flight-qualified. The XPand4208 and XP4206 systems, tested to MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461, are based on the Intel Core i7 processor. The XPand4028 expandable dual-processor system with secure Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) router incorporates two 3U VPX Core i7 modules, a VITA 62 3U VPX power supply, 3U VPX GbE switch, and two 3U VPX expansion slots. It also includes two secure and removable solid-state-disk (SSD) modules. The XPand4206 features three 3U VPX Intel Core i7 modules, a VITA 62 3U VPX power supply, a 3U VPX 10 GbE switch, and 12 CAN bus channels, as well as two secure and removable SSD modules. Both systems come in a sub-1/2, forced-air-cooled, ruggedized air-transport-rack (ATR) chassis. An optional memory module bay can be added to the top of the units. They support up to 300 W from a MIL-STD-704 28-V dc input, as well as internal electromagnetic-interference filtering.
