A family of 2.5-in. flash drive kits from Addonics Technologies allows users to replace 2.5- or 3.5-in. hard drives in notebook PCs or other systems with popular flash cards. The M2 NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor) Flash drive kit replaces a mechanical hard drive with a low-power, shock-resistant M2 solid-state drive (SSD), which is smaller, lighter and more power-saving than comparable SSDs. They can help maximize performance in mobile devices when used as a cache drive (in tandem with a hard-disk drive), and offer enough storage space to load an operating system. Family models include the 2.5” M2 (NGFF) SSD Drive, which replaces 2.5-in. SATA hard drive with 30-, 42-, 60-, or 80-mm-length M2 (NGFF) SSD cards; the 2.5” mSATA Flash drive, which uses the mSATA SSD to replace SATA hard drives; and the 2.5” IDE mSATA Flash drive, which replaces a 2.5-in. hard drive with a low-power, shock-resistant mSATA SSD. The two SATA models support the industrial temperature range. All flash drives come with a converter board mounted inside a lightweight aluminum frame with dimensions and mounting holes to mimic a 9-mm, 2.5-in. SATA hard drive.
