At Atmel’s Electronica booth (Hall A5, Booth 542) the company will be showcasing the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technology for smart homes, industrial applications, the automotive market, and in the spirit of the Maker Movement. The smart home zone will showcase hardware security with wireless connectivity, including the Atmel WINC1500, a network controller SoC that will demonstrate a video camera, temperature sensor, and LED control. A three-light switch demo, communicating via ZigBee to a remote panel with three LEDs using an Atmel ATSHA204 device with stored crypto keys will showcase symmetric authentication.

Demonstrations in the industrial zone will feature rugged, capacitive touchscreen tablets that can be used with gloves and reject moisture with QTouch technology. The automotive zone will feature a demonstration of the AvantCar, an automotive center console concept with curved touchscreens that showcase Atmel’s XSense, maXTouch, QTouch, and 8-bit AVR MCU technologies. A major proponent of the Maker Movement, Atmel’s Maker zone will feature a remote-controlled Maker Robot and a Skittles sorting machine powered by the SMART SAM D21.
