Introduced as the FPGA industry’s first 10-Gb/s silicon, the RocketPHY family is based on standard CMOS technology and can interface with Virtex-II PRO FPGA families and standard framer and media access controller (MAC) ASSPs. Connectivity is via a 16-bit LVDS interface that is compliant with both OIF SFI-4 and IEEE 802.3ae XSBI standards. The 10-Gb/s transceiver family meets OC-192 SONET/SDH STM-64, FEC (G.709), 10 Gb Ethernet, and emerging 10-Gb Fibre Channel standards. It consists of three devices: the XGC1120 10G ultra MSA for SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64, G.709, 10-Gb Ethernet, and 10-Gb Fibre Channel applications; XGC1121 10G SONET/SDH for SONET OC-192 and SDH-STM-64; and the XGC1320 10GbE/FC supports 10-Gb Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. Samples are available now with production scheduled for the fourth quarter. In 256-ball PBGAs, prices for XGC1120, XGC1121 and XGC1320 are $99, $89 and $79 each/5,000, respectively.
