Expanding the flash-based ProASIC Plus field-programmable gate array (FPGA) family, the APA075 sports 75,000 gates and the company’s FlashLock on-chip security feature. The device is user programmed with a key, ranging from 79 to 263 bits. The FlashLock feature allows users to lock the design after programming to prevent unauthorized changes. Other features include speeds of up to 100 MHz, compatibility with 3.3V and 2.5V devices in a mixed-voltage environment, an integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) core, delay lines and clock multiplier/dividers, and two high-speed LVPECL differential input pairs to accommodate clock or data inputs. In-system programmability is supported through a JTAG interface. Price is under $8 each/100,000. ACTEL CORP., Sunnyvale, CA. (888) 992-2835.
