Based on Advanced Micro Devices' 32-bit NOR flash and offering extended capabilities of up to 64 Mbytes of bootable flash memory, the FlashLite D Series high-capacity PC card is said to provide high performance in a standard Type I form factor that is well-suited for applications in automotive, telecommunications, industrial and consumer markets. The cards are designed for use as linear memory cards and can be used with systems requiring eXecute-In-Place (XIP). They can also be used as a bootable flash disk, providing 100% hard disk compatibility. The functionality is enabled by TrueFFS technology, a proprietary flash file system.The cards offer broad operating system compatibility and provide an easy upgrade process for customers already using an AMD-compatible PC card, it's claimed. The series is compatible with numerous existing systems, providing an immediate, easy-to-use solution for mass storage. The family of cards provides a rugged, removable linear flash data storage solution for products such as mobile systems, handheld devices, test equipment, embedded systems and PBXs.The card is available in commercial (0°C to 70°C), enhanced (-25°C to 75°C) and extended (-40°C to 85°C) temperature ranges.
