Poised for use in automotive and consumer applications where space is highly limited, the 3-wire S-93C series E2PROMs provides densities from 1 Kb to 16 Kb, while the 2-wire S-24C series offers 1Kb to 64 Kb. Both series specify an endurance in excess of 10 million cycles over a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C and a retention span up to 100 years. They also integrate data protection circuits, a clock pulse monitoring circuit that locks out a write instruction when a noise impulse occurs, and a voltage detection circuit that locks out a write instruction when the supply voltage is low. Additional common features include a power supply voltage range from 1.8V to 5.5V for reading and 2.7V to 5.5V writing, power consumption of 0.8 mA to 1 mA maximum read, 2 mA to 4 mA maximum write, and 1.5 µA to 5 µA maximum standby. Write times range from 8 ms to 10 ms maximum. SEIKO INSTRUMENTS USA INC., Torrance, CA. (310) 517-7700.
