CompactFlash Cards Up Capacity

Based on the latest, thicker CompactFlash Type II card format, these CF/2 cards come in four capacities up to 80 MB. The CF/2 standard was adopted by the CompactFlash Association in March 1998 and is 5 mm thick, compared to the standard thickness of 3.3 mm. The latest format allows applications other than just memory, such as disk drives, modems, network and LAN, etc. The standard cards will plug into the taller CF/2 slots, which maintains backward compatibility with previous cards. The latest cards have been used with the Canon Pro 70 digital camera. The cards are designated as card 1 and 2, and let users switch back and forth.
