Suited for use in high-density CompactFlash and PCMCIA cards of up to 192 and 640 MB, respectively, these 256-Mb flash memories use an enhanced multi-level technology that achieves high storage densities and lower costs per bit while providing enhancements in terms of power consumption and speed. The write/erase speed is 3 MB/s, which is about 30 times faster than present devices. Flash cards based on these devices have an erase speed of 2 MB/s and read speed greater than 13.3 MB/s.
