With accolades such as the fastest graphics memory to date, processing images at speeds 33% faster than the nearest competitor, the company's series four graphics double-density-rate memory (GDDR4) has gone into mass production. The devices feature increased performance with a proportional reduction in power consumption. Measured against GDDR3 at the highest comparable speed of 2 Gb/s, GDDR4 reportedly exhibits a 45% power savings. The 512 Mb GDDR4 memory will be available in a 32-bit data bus configuration. Additionally, the devices meet JEDEC standards for noise reduction including data bus inversion and multi-preamble specifications. SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO. LTD., San Jose, CA. (408) 544-4000.
