Software Tweaks DSPs For Relay Apps

Available in three versions, the GAO Relay Package allows OEMs to create devices that utilize a single digital wireline or wireless voice channel to carry multiple channels of fax, modem and voice traffic over one voice channel. The package, which comes as an assembly languages for the ADSP21xx family of DSPs from Analog Devices and the C54xx family of DSPs from Texas Instruments as well as in fixed-point C for microprocessors, complies with the ITU standards for fax, data and voice relay and for fax, data and voice control. It also includes telephony features such as G.165 Line Echo Canceller, dual tone multi-frequency generator/decoder; automatic gain control, caller ID, and call progress detector. Applications include fax relay, voice-over-IP, and voice-over-frame relay.
