A pair of high-speed serial EEPROMs offers storage capacities of 8 and 16 kbits (the 25XX080A/B and 25XX160A/B, respectively). The memories, with data-transfer speeds of 10 MHz, can be had in two supply-range options—1.8 to 5.5 V or 2.5 to 5.5 V (the 25AA080/160 and 25LC080/160, respectively). The memories feature self-timed erase and write cycles and a write time of 5 ms. Each memory comes with either a 16- or 32-byte page register (suffix A or B, respectively). The EEPROMs draw 3 mA when writing and as little as 3 µA on standby. Each model is serial-peripheral-interface-bus compatible and available in a variety of packages—TSSOP, PDIP, SOIC, and MSOP. With a 200-year data retention, the memories can handle 1 million erase/write cycles. In lots of 10,000-units, prices start at $0.52 apiece for the 25XX080A and B and $0.54 apiece for the 25XX160A and B. Samples are immediately available.
