The company's second-generation family of PCI Express clock buffers provides reference clocks for serial connectivity at 5 Gb/s and meets the reference clock requirements of fully buffered DIMMs. The devices support Xeon Dual Core processor applications with as few as four or as many as 19 separate PCIe outputs via a single IC. Additionally, the devices reportedly surpass the stringent PCIe Gen2 jitter requirements. The PI6C20400S has four differential outputs while the PI6C20800S provides eight differential outputs, each with one spread-spectrum compatible phase locked loop (PLL). The PI6C21900 (18+1) and PI6C21900S (17+2) each offer 19 differential outputs, with two spread-spectrum compatible PLLs. Prices range from $1.35 to $4.50 each/5,000.
