The Comcerto enterprise voice and data convergence processor family forecasts a unique class of integrated office-in-a-box equipment by combining voice-over-packet processing, WAN data routing, and VPN encryption in a system on chip. The M828xx processors offer manufacturers the ability to design a system capable of simultaneously processing up to 32 channels of secure voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) and route data at speeds up to 150 Kb/s. The integrated encryption processor delivers up to 60 Mb/s of throughput and supports a range of interfaces including PCI and USB host, Ethernet, UTOPIA, serial, and multi-chain SPI. Additionally, the devices support a wide range of voice codecs and incorporate the latest version of the company's echo canceller. A software suite is available that supports G.165/G.168-2000 echo cancellers, G.711, G.723.1, and G.726, and the T.38 real-time fax protocol. Available in 19-mm FPBGAs, prices range from $54 for an 8-channel M82805 to $119 for the 32-channel M82820 in OEM quantities. MINDSPEED TECHNOLOGIES INC., Newport Beach, CA. (949) 579-3000.
