Embarking as the first such security device for the small-to-medium business market, the VF2110 system on chip (SoC) allows system manufacturers to add capabilities such as anti-virus and intrusion detection and prevention services without sacrificing system performance or security. Based on patented Re-loadable Direct Execution technology, the device helps to eliminate the traditional patchwork of additional security appliances historically used to support these features while simplifying network management. Operating as a dedicated security ASIC, it reduces latency and provides 200 Mb/s of firewall and virtual private network throughput for all packet sizes. The chip supports two Gigabit Ethernet ports, which can be extended to support a variety of Gigabit and Fast Ethernet port configurations with an external Ethernet switch chip. Additionally, the VF2110 supports 65,000 sessions, 300 policies, 250 tunnels, stateful signatures, protocol anomaly detection, traffic anomaly detection, reconnaissance deterrence, Layer 2 detection, DoS and DDoS detection, and spoofing detection. The VF2110 is currently sampling with pricing available upon request. MISTLETOE TECHNOLOGIES INC., Cupertino, CA. (408) 996-0220.
