Reset Chips Shoot For High-Volume µP Designs

Oct. 8, 2008
Groomed for high-volume, cost-sensitive microprocessor-based applications, the STM809, STM810, STM811, and STM812 reset devices monitor 3V, 3.3V, and 5V supply voltages and are available with one of five nominal voltage thresholds from 2.63V to 4.63V.

The STM811 and STM812 include a manual push-button reset input that requires no added de-bounce circuitry. Their push-pull outputs exhibit a minimum reset pulse of 140 ms after the supply has risen above the threshold. Outputs from STM809 and STM811 are active low while the outputs of STM810 and STM812 are active high. Features common to each device include power-on reset, a guaranteed reset assertion for a supply voltage down to 1V, and reliable immunity to supply transients. The STM809 and STM810 are available in three-pin SOT23-3 packages and the STM811 and STM812 come in four-pin SOT143-4 packages. Prices are $0.015, $0.015, $0.20, and $0.20, respectively, each/100,000. STMICROELECTRONICS INC., Lexington, MA. (781) 861-2650.
