Reportedly a first, the ISL21400 digitally programmable temperature compensation voltage reference allows users to set the temperature slope and dc voltage of its output to accurately compensate for temperature drifts. Users can generate a compensation voltage to cancel out temperature drift in the analog domain, thereby allowing the use of lower-cost components. The device provides a 1.2V reference with an absolute reference accuracy of +2%, 8-bit control of slope and output voltage, plus three different gain settings that are applied at the output buffer. All settings are stored in on-chip EEPROM. Available in an SO-8 form factor and operating over the industrial temperature range, price is $1.25 each/1,000. INTERSIL CORP., Milpitas, CA.
