Addressing the I/O connectivity challenges common to volume and value server markets, the PCI Express Gen2 switches include 24-lane/six-port, 24-lane/three-port, six-lane/six-port, and a four-lane/four-port devices. The switches are compliant with the PCI-SIG PCIe base specification 2.0 and provide the option of doubling the throughput bandwidth of existing PCIe lanes to 5 Gb/s.
