Claimed as the highest performance encryption solution available for networking, server and telecommunications users, SafeNET DSP is a IPSec-compliant network security solution on a single chip that allows IPSec-encrypted data to be tranmitted over public networks at OC-3 rates of 155 Mbps and faster. By integrating the SafeNet digital signal processor into a router or remote access server, OEMs can enable Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), enterprise Extranets, and electronic-commerce applications with higher throughput and stronger security than previously available over the Internet. The chip is scalable so multiple chips can be combined to enable even higher data rates. It integrates encryption hardware and software on a single chip, allowing all encryption to take place at the chip level instead of the software level. And unlike multi-chip solutions, the data or keys never leave the chip unencrypted. On-chip encryption acceleration circuitry ensures that data can transmit at the full speed of the telecomm equipment. General sampling of the first SafeNet DSP, the ADSP-2141, is in process with full production slated to begin in July.
